Access custom fields on iPhone

With this release, you can now view and update custom fields from the Follow Up Boss iPhone app. This gives you even more access to your data and better visibility of your contacts’ details, no matter where you are.

You can download the newest version of the iPhone app (version 2.17.0) on the App Store.

To view a contact’s custom fields, open their profile and scroll down to the Custom Fields section. You can tap a custom field to update it, and then save any changes.

For those of you with Android phones, we’re focused on bringing custom fields to the Android app in the second half of 2021. You can check out the Android roadmap and send us feedback here.

Trigger an Automation when changing a deal’s stage

We just released a new trigger for Automations called “Deal Stage Changed.” This update not only saves you time and keeps you on track throughout the transaction process, it also helps you give clients a better experience and ensures more repeat and referral business.

Now when you change a deal’s stage — for example, from “Pending” to “Closed” — an Automation can automatically trigger an Action Plan that creates future tasks and sends drip emails to stay in touch.

Here are some more examples of how to use it:

When a deal stage is changed, send a notification, add a lender and start an Action Plan that assigns tasks to your transaction coordinator. Try out this Automation.

When a deal stage is changed to Closed, start an action plan to change the lead stage to closed and start the Post Closing Action Plan to make sure your agents stay in touch. Try out this Automation.

Please note: Automations will not run when a deal is being created, only when the deal is moving from one stage to the next.

New Android update: Appointments and Contact Relationships

The newest version of the Android mobile app (version 2.21.0) supports both appointments and Contact Relationships. This update also fixes some intermittent issues with tasks not displaying.

And you can also edit and view Contact Relationships from the app:

You can download or update the app from the Google Play store here. We recommend turning on automatic updates for the app to make sure you get the newest feature updates and bug fixes.

We made a roadmap that shows our upcoming Android improvements here, which also gives you an option to submit ideas to our team for how we can keep improving the app.

New Automation actions for reassigning contacts and adding notes

Automations were already kind of like your 24/7 assistant who combs your database for more opportunities nonstop. But with this release, Automations can now reassign a lead to another agent (or group of agents), so your team gets notified about cold leads at the moment they become active again.

Here's a quick video overview:

Let’s unpack this important update:

1. We added a new Automation action for “Reassign.”

2. We added a new Automation action for “Add Note,” which can notify your team.

3. We added the ability to have multiple actions (one of each) triggered by a single Automation.

Here's just one example of how it works:

Now we can help you turn old leads into more appointments with less effort. Distribute stale leads to your team at the moment they’re ready to re-engage, and start the conversation automatically.

If a stale lead makes a new inquiry on your website or through another lead source, an Automation can now reassign the lead to another agent (or group of agents) on your team. That way, your team gets notified and can step-up to help right away.

And now that Automations support multiple actions, you can also add a note and assign an Action Plan to the lead at the same time as the reassignment. The note serves as a heads-up to your team about the lead’s recent event, and the Action Plan helps re-engage the lead.

This release gives your team more opportunities to discover more deals by getting in front of inactive leads at the moment they become active again.

Better together: Contact Relationships 👥

A few things that are always better together:

  • Coffee and donuts
  • Rhythm and blues
  • Your client's and their spouse’s contact info and communication history

I know that took a bit of a turn at the end there, but stick with us.

We just released an early build of Contact Relationships, which will make your life easier when you’re working on a deal with multiple people, like a spousal couple, family members or business partners.

Imagine having every call, text and email from each person neatly packaged together, with each name clearly labeled in-line. No more juggling threads and wasting time figuring out who needs a response.

Have better conversations and build stronger relationships by looping in the people who matter.

How does it work?

On each lead’s profile, you’ll see a new relationships section:

This is where you can add contact info for any people who are related to your lead, like their spouse or family members.

After that, all your communication with related people stays organized together on the same lead profile, and it’s easier to keep everyone in the loop.

You can quickly add Contact Relationships to group texts and emails, and invite them to appointments together, so they each receive invitations and reminder texts.

Contact Relationships provide a ton of added functionality aimed at streamlining your workflow and giving your clients a first-class experience.

This is still an early release, so we’re continuing work to polish it up and add more functionality and features to it over time. Some of the top future improvements on our Contact Relationships radar include Action Plan and birthday support and import/export functionality.
