Initial text message settings moving to the Lead Flow page 📦 ➡️ 💬
We’re making an update to the way account owners and admins manage initial text autoresponders for new leads. Starting January 24th, you’ll set up and edit your initial text message directly from the Lead Flow page—no longer within Action Plans as before.
Why the change?
- Better control for new lead communication: Manage everything that happens when a new lead enters Follow Up Boss—routing, Action Plans, and now your initial text messages—all from the Lead Flow page.
- No more guesswork: With text autoresponders and lead routing in the same place, it’s easier than ever to fine-tune your workflows.
- Future-ready: This change prepares Follow Up Boss for even more powerful tools (hint, hint: Automations 2.0) coming down the road to help you grow your business.
What about my current setup?
We’ve made this transition super simple:
- No action required: If you’ve already set up an initial text autoresponder in an Action Plan, we’ve automatically moved it over to the Lead Flow page for you. Your Action Plans will keep running smoothly—no disruption, no extra work.
- Text templates created for you: We’ve also created text templates for each of your existing initial text autoresponders inside each Action Plan, so you can easily access and reuse them anytime.
What’s staying the same?
- Your text autoresponders will continue sending as usual—this change is all about where you manage them.
- You can still fully customize your messages to fit your tone and style.

You’ll find your initial text message settings right on the Lead Flow page starting January 24th.
Action Plan initial text messages can easily be found in a folder called "Initial Text Messages - Lead Flow" on the Text Templates page in the Admin tab.
